Mid/End of February Update

So Karen is still sick. Sick everyday--it gets old, but probably more so for her than me. Not much is going on with us besides that. I think with Karen sick and there still being a sort of Holidays hang-over when it comes to being just plain busy all the time, we're just relaxing and spending time with each other. That's not a bad thing either--I've been getting home pretty late from training recently too--so it's been good.
We've decided to go to D.C. and Petersberg, VA for vacation this Spring. We're going to spend some time with my brother, Dan, before he shoves-off to Iraq. I have always been interested in the cultures of the Middle East and I would love to visit Iraq someday--just not today. We will pray for his and others' safety daily. It sure makes the War seem a lot more real and not just some daily Nightly News event. I realized how used to something you can get--even something like the war--as terrible as that really is.
Before I wax too thoughtful, I'll end.
Some sad news--devastating, really--hit me last week. Audioslave broke up. The last of the real rock bands is now no more. To end on "Revelations" isn't so good either. Why aren't there any more good rock bands out there? Not that there's not any rock music. Just that the stuff out there is too pre-fab. Well, I'll keep searching--I'll never give up. The silver-lining of the news is that Chris Cornell will be releasing a new solo album soon. At least there's a silver-lining...

No Special Occassion

Maya smiling as best she can.
I'm not sure if there's any special reason Karen dressed Savannah's hair--for the heck of it, I guess. Anyway, she's cute. She looks very different--older, even.
Posing, as usual.
