Maya's Broken Collarbone

Maya Broke her collarbone earlier this year. She slipped in her tap shoes and hit the floor hard during dance class. It was pretty awful--seeing her hurt like that and in so much pain that you just cannot make go away. What was worse: SIX hours in the ER waiting room. For nothing too. The XRAY was horrible and "inconclusive"--that's because the machine they had was in poor shape. Maya was pretty tough through it all though. Eventually, she learned to cope. We ended up going to get a second opinion and XRAY and the break was clear as day. Just another failure at the typical ultra-subpar healthcare system here in Houston. Houstonians think they have much better health care because they have world class specialist care here that they hear about on the news all the time, but when it comes to regular healthcare--even family practitioners--it's pretty bad.

Oh man, that face!

Is this how Dave would feel if he heard about someone using concrete for a school project and calling it rocks? Sub-par X-ray machine, bah!

I thought it was Angie with the cracked skull- I did that.
Ash broke her collarbone when she was 3 but they didn't do anything for it. It was just painful for her to be picked up for a month or so. Was this before or after your visit here?
